Vello is a personal finance app that helps you track spending, budgets, and savings goals.
This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Data we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, and sign-in credentials (or your Google, Apple, or Facebook login).
- Financial data you add: transactions, accounts and cards, budgets, savings goals, and files you import (such as CSV or Excel statements).
- Bank notification messages you share: when you use smart message recognition, the text of bank notifications you provide is processed to create transactions. Raw message text is stored encrypted.
- Device information: a push notification token if you enable notifications, and basic app diagnostics.
How we use your data
- To provide the app: recording transactions, computing balances, budgets, and insights.
- To power optional AI features such as message recognition, spending summaries, and the assistant. AI features never make changes to your finances without your confirmation.
- To send you notifications you have enabled.
- To improve the product using anonymous, aggregated statistics that cannot identify you.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not connect to your bank accounts — Vello only uses data you add or share yourself.
- We do not share your financial data with advertisers.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored securely. Sensitive message
text is encrypted at rest. Access to production systems is restricted.
Your choices and rights
- Export: you can export all of your data from the app (Settings → Privacy).
- Delete your data: wipe your financial data while keeping your account — see request data deletion.
- Delete your account: permanently delete your account and all data — see delete your account.
Data retention
Your data is kept while your account is active. When you delete data or your account,
it is removed immediately; encrypted backups age out within 30 days. Anonymous,
aggregated statistics may be retained.
Subscriptions
Premium subscriptions are processed by Apple and Google. We receive purchase status,
never your payment details.
Children
Vello is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
